SOP/NDMA (Standard Operating Procedures / National Disaster Management Authority)
Ensuring the safety of students is a top priority, encompassing their entire journey from home to school and back. School safety involves protection against natural disasters of geological and climatic origin, human-made risks, transportation hazards, and other emergencies. Preparedness and Response at the Local Level:
- A safety focal point teacher has been nominated.
- The School Management Committee has been sensitized on safety protocols.
- A group of peer educators has been trained to assist in emergency situations.
School Disaster Management Plan Includes:
- A centralized PA system for issuing warnings.
- Clearly identified evacuation routes.
- Access routes for emergency vehicles.
- Provisions for the care of children with special needs.
- Stockpiled emergency equipment with regular maintenance checks.
- Procedures for the orderly release of students during emergencies.
- A site map highlighting evacuation routes and assembly points.
SOP for Dealing with Threats:
Preventive Measures Taken by the Vidyalaya:
- A boundary wall enclosing the school premises.
- Display of emergency contact numbers.
- Adequate illumination around the perimeter.
- CCTV surveillance system.
- Centralized PA system for communication.
- Alarm systems for prompt alerts.
